LEAD TECHNICIAN

POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Technician is responsible for testing,
troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing electronic devices in multiple store locations.
This position also is responsible for the training, coaching and supervision of
Technicians in each store.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.
ï‚· Provides technical repair services to multiple stores including diagnosing,
troubleshooting, providing recommendations and repairing devices
o Diagnoses and isolates equipment and system malfunctions
o Identifies and resolves equipment malfunctions; ordering replacement
parts as needed
o Tests devices utilizing standard tests and analyses results to determine
performance and adjustment needs
o Adjusts or replaces defective or improperly functioning circuitry or
electronics components, utilizing micro soldering
o Assembles, tests, or maintain circuitry or electronic components,
according to device instructions, manuals or technical knowledge using
hand or power tools
o Recommends repair and/or replacement solutions to technicians
o Maintains all equipment and components by performing scheduled
maintenance tasks, ensuring calibration of equipment and scheduling
replacement when needed.

ï‚· Responsible for the training and supervision of Technicians in multiple
store locations
o Supervisory responsibilities include:
 interviewing, hiring and training employees,
 planning and assigning and directing work
 appraising performance on time
 rewarding and disciplining employees, and
 addressing and resolving problems.
o Responsible for the onboarding process for new hires; ensuring policies
and procedures are trained properly
o Responsible for training of all Technicians in regards to technical repairs
(identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions), testing, adjusting and
replacing electronic components, customer service and sale outcomes
o Responsible for training micro soldering to Technicians ensuring safety
and company policies and procedures are adhered to

ï‚· Responsible for ensuring excellent customer service support and
education, working with Technicians and users to identify needs,
determine sources of problems, or to provide information as well as repair
and replacement estimates
o Ensures customer’s experience exceeds expectations in every store
location
o Ensures all store Technicians are following company customer service
standards and policies/procedures
o Follows up on customer complaints and concerns in order to resolve
issues quickly and effectively
ï‚· Records and keeps track of all inventory
o Manages store stock ensuring all parts and devices are safeguarded
o Manages repair inventory involving new parts, recording inventory
volumes and part utilization

ï‚· Ensures all stores are adhering to safety standards and company policies
and procedures
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position supervises Technicians in multiple store locations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
ï‚· High School diploma or equivalent required
ï‚· One (1) year experience in related technical field required
ï‚· Must have at least one year of experience in micro soldering and software
ï‚· Proficiency with Windows/MacOS and MS Office required

ï‚· Experience repairing smartphones, PC/MACs, electronics and game consoles
required
ï‚· Must have experience with electronic mail, record keeping, routine database
activity, internet web searches, participant in operation of videoconferencing,
operation of scanning/imaging equipment, etc.
ï‚· Must be willing to travel to and from store locations.
ï‚· Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
 Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
 Bachelor’s degree in technical field preferred
ï‚· A+ Certification
ï‚· Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT)
ï‚· Technical degree or certification in Electronics or Consumer Electronics
ï‚· Previous experience working at retail electronics store
PHYSCIAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is continually required to
stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, utilize hand and finger dexterity and reach with hands and
arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop kneel or
crawl. Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. Frequently works near
moving mechanical parts. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the
work environment is usually moderate. The employee must occasionally lift and/or
move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee works with micro soldering equipment. The employee is required to travel
within region assigned.
